The Blackmagic Pocket Cam 4K is a predecessor to the BMPCC 6K and provides DCI 4K image capture in RAW and ProRes 422 to CFast 2.0, SD, and external USB-C drives. Key features include: Micro 4/3, 18.95 × 10mm, CMOS sensor 13 stops of dynamic range DCI 4K capture to RAW and ProRes Records to CFast 2.0, SD UHS-II, & external USB-C drives New M4/3 DCI 4K Sensor. Blackmagic has made some much needed improvements to the second iteration of the Pocket Cinema Camera, and it all starts with a larger, higher resolution sensor. It offers DCI 4K capture up to 60p in 12-bit CinemaDNG RAW and a number of 10-bit ProRes 422 options. Frame rates can be extended to 120 fps when shooting in cropped 1080p. Dual ISO Sensitivity. Low-light sensitivity is improved over the gen one Pocket Cinema Camera by an increase in the sensor size, but also thanks to a new dual ISO feature. It allows users to modify the camera's native ISO to reduce noise at higher sensitivities, the BMPCC 4K ISO range extends all with way up to ISO 25,600. Micro 4/3 Lens Compatibility. The camera has an active micro four-thirds lens mount for compatibility with a wide range of lenses from manufacturers like Panasonic & Olympus. Use existing adapters to enable the use of EF lenses, PL lenses, C-mount lenses, and more. High Battery and Media Demands. To allow the capture of 4K/60 RAW files, the BMPCC 4K takes CFast 2.0 and SD UHS-II, and you'll only get about 7 minutes per 256GB at that format. External USB-C drives can also be used for longer record times with a lower cost per gigabyte. Power is provided by common Canon LP-E6 or LP-E6n batteries but be warned, this camera will eat through a fully charged battery in approximately one hour. Please plan your power and memory needs accordingly. Other Features. The camera has a big 5" touchscreen monitor on the back, but video can be monitored externally via the full size HDMI port. It provides high quality audio input and 48V phantom power to microphones via its mini XLR input. Use of professional microphones will require an XLR female to mini XLR adapter cable, which is not included with the rental. Need a Memory Card?
